Remy is my protection Paladin and I must say she is one of my most fun characters. Tanking? Fun? Hell yes! There is nothing like having a ton of mobs on you letting everyone else go AOE nuts and not a single mob peeling off. The battle for Mount Hyjal was just incredible to tank with all those waves of mobs.
I waited to roll a paladin until the paladin hype died down. I expected to have a ton of 70 paladin's in the guild because quite a few people rolled them right away but people got bored fast. My husband and I had a ball leveling Remy (mine) and Astriana (his) of course we leveled as Protection and Holy. Together there was nothing we couldn't do. We 2 manned all the quests all the way up and gankers got their cookies eaten by us regularly. We had so much fun evertime someone tried to gank us because they couldn't kill us unless they were about 20 levels above us and even then we gave them trouble. Once we hit 70 we quickly moved into top raiding spots. Remy was one of the best geared protection paladins on the server and we actually used her to tank bosses instead of just trash tanking like most of other guilds. I will never forget the night we took a new guild member who was a protection pally who had a lot of T6 and had never main tanked anything and was nervous about tanking Kara.
I admit that pallys were very confusing for people to gear and play but I tried to coach several people and only about 1 in 3 actually got it and became accomplished players. I was actually kind of annoyed when they regeared us for 3.0 but it didn't take me that long get into the hange of taking the warriors gear away from them. Remy's gear is now complete and she is waiting for Ulduar to open so we can go kick som butt. Check her out on the armory if you want to see a well geared Protection Paladin. Feel free to leave me any questions you have about prot pallies.

Preparing for Ulduar
Amangur has done pretty well for its self when it comes to raiding. We have a few very talented players that are consistently good at what they do. We also have some players that can be good players but they have to focus on the task at hand and they don't always seem to be able to do that. Last night was a prime example when after our 3rd wipe on Sarth +2 drakes someone said "OK I will shut off the television". All I could think of was, "Why the hell didn't you shut it off before the raid and we might have been done by now". Then there are the players that just can't get it right. They constantly stand in the circles of death and get hit by the flame waves. My hubby installed a mod called Failbot and had it out put these kind of mistakes into guild. Good thing we are nice about this stuff because on Helgain the Unclean one person was hit by the green goo 26 times. We must have some good healers because they kept him alive. As we head into Ulduar we are going to have to stop coddling the people who just can't help us get the job done. I always want to give people the benifit of the doubt and believe people can be coached into a good proformance but unfortunatley some people have proved me wrong. If people dps or healing stats don't increase with the addition of new gear than they won't coming along with us into Ulduar.
We have decided to open our recruiting again because we need a few more good raiders to take the spots of the non-proformers we have been taking into Naxx and the current 25 mans. We tend to be extrememly casual on our raiding. We don't require you to attend raids and it doesn't effect your ability to get loots. If you think you would be interested in joining the ranks of Amangur raiders than feel free to fill out an application at http://amangur.dkpsystem.com/news.php.

My Responce to "The Instance"
I am a long time listener of "The Instance" and I couldn't help myself but to respond to a discussion they had about mages. They had been hearing that a large number of mages were complaining that the class was no longer a dps powerhouse and were no longer fun to play. I have a mage of my own and I can say without any doubt that they are not hurting for dps output. What I have seen and heard from my guild members and other raiders that I have contact with is that Mages and Shamans are both complaining that they no longer enjoy playing their character or that they can't put out the same amount of damage. The players that are complaining are all lazy players that enjoyed the one button play that they used to have and now they have timers and cooldowns and multiple spells to cast. They will have poor dps if they try to play with the BC play style. Theses players have all migrated to DK's and other classes but they aren't proforming well in any class because Blizzard has made sure no class has a free ride and everyone must watch timers and cast more than one spell. Our guild went thru a period with no mages or Elemental shammies early in WTLK because changes to the play style was just to difficult for many to adjust to. Even my hunter buddies are having a bit of time adjusting to dealing with timers and cooldowns instead of casting macros of old but they are willing to work at it so they can top the dps charts nightly.
I am going to have to put together a list of mods that I use that will help increase your dps. I run a huge number of mods so this might take me a few days.

You have to try the Log Ride
This week I found a little known item in Grizzly Hills! There is a log ride that connects Blue Sky Logging Grounds to Adventure Bay. Remember the ride that connected Skettis to Ogrila? This connects the dailys in Blue Sky to Adventure Bay but it does it with style! I must admit it is a bit nauseating but awesome at the same time.
If you have never been to Grizzly Hills and done the dailys than you are missing some very simple dailys that give Warsong Hold reputation. Ir you are looking for the log ride go to Blue Sky Logging Grounds and there are is an orc for the Horde and a Dwarf for Alliance they are standing on stands that have water hoses pumping water onto wooden chutes. These are near the north part of the grounds.

Remy... Not the Red Headed Step Child
My first paladin was on the alliance side early in the vanilla wow days. In the beggining Paladins were not very well thought out and there was nothing they were good at. It was like being the red headed step child. You were only invited to an instance if there was no one else available. When Paladins became available to Horde I decided I would give it another try. My hubby rolled one at the same time. I went Protection and he went Holy... What a hoot! Usually on a pvp server you are ganked a lot while leveling but we managed to hold our own and I don't remember us dying the entire time we were leveling. Well there was that one time I was 40 against a 65 druid but I almost had her until she rooted me and started moonfiring. I am going to dual-spec holy and prot with her after 3.1 but Protection is my love so that will stay my main spec. I was our guilds first prot pally and I remain our only main spec prot.
Remy is also on Twisting Nether so feel free to check her out on the armory. If you have any questoins about protection paladins please feel free to leave me a question.

Introducing Lunafreya
Luna is the Empress of the Amangur Empire guild on Twisting Nether. With her white hair and wizened troll ways she is a link to the good old RP days of AE (Amangur Empire). Even though she was leveled 1-67 as shadow I collected healing gear and healed instances all along the way. I only specced into holy because it was to difficult healing Heroics as shadow. I have tried going shadow a could times since but I just don't care for it anymore. I would much rather heal. Luna is one of our best geared priests and I until recently was our only holy priest. I have now been joined by Cic who took a couple months off for college and my hubby who converted his shadow priest and may never go back. All 3 of us think healing is more challenging than dps and more enjoyable.
If you have any questions about holy priests or priests in general leave a comment.

Am I addicted to WoW 'cause I have 5 levle 80s?
My rogue just hit 80. That makes 5 level 80s for me.
I had 5 70s when WTLK was launched and it was a fairly hard decision who I would level first My husband and I decided that we would level his feral tank druid and my holy priest together. They were 80 in about a week. We lacked dps to instances with for a few days so we started leveling his Holy and my Prot Pallidans together. Leveling a tank and healer together is a sure way to make sure you can get an instance when ever you want one. I am always in demand whether it is tanking or healing. I get bored easy and I enjoy leveling so I now have an 80 - Holy Priest, Prot Pally, Balance Druid, Frost Fire Mage, and now Mut Rogue.
Not sure who is coming up next...

The Beginning of a Epic Journey
My story starts close to the beginning of WoW. My husband and I had always been gamers. We have played everything from Doom to Diablo to Half-life. All our friends were also computer gamers so we hosted LAN parties quite often and loved the social side of gaming. My brother and a good friend of ours were playing World of Warcraft and had told us a bit about it. We always had 4th of July parties and our friend Josh decided he was going to make us get accounts and give us a crash course in WoW. After a brief stint on a PVP server as Alliance we joined Josh on a RPPVP. Josh was part of a well established pvp guild on the horde side but what hooked us was the relationships we made in Ventrilo. I must admit I was fail at RP but I also learned how fail I was as a player. I learned about stats and gear and specs and I became a survival hunter who was adept at CC (crowd control) . Some how thru the course of BC my little alt priest became our top healer and the guild master and I also had a pally tank who was decently geared with T6 and badge gear.
Our little guild has grown into a decently sized guild who was in the top 10 raiding guilds on our server. I have leveled 4 soon to be 5 characters to 80 and raided with each one. I consider myself to be an expert on everything WoW and I would like to offer my assistance to the anyone who cares to leave there questions on my Blog.
